HubSpot AI Search Grader Alternatives: What Should You Use Next?

The short answer

Use Semrush for a complementary domain visibility report, Omnia for an emailed prompt-based snapshot, and a recurring product when you have questions to track over time. Keep HubSpot's free grader for an introductory brand check, and include HubSpot AEO in the paid shortlist. Consider RankEcho when the next deliverable is a reviewed page fix and later observation. A low grade alone does not establish which tool or correction you need.

AFTER AN AI SEARCH GRADE: EVIDENCE AND NEXT STEP — v1.0
Decision owner / review date:
The business question this check should answer:

1. Confirm the company
Brand name / owned domain / product category / target geography:
Brand in the report: MATCHED / DIFFERENT / UNKNOWN
Evidence that this is the intended company:
Keep identity uncertainty visible before assigning any recommendation to our site.

2. Save one evidence record per engine or search surface
Tool / report URL or saved file / observation time and time zone:
Exact engine, model if available, surface, language and geography:
Prompt or prompt-set version; if unavailable, write UNKNOWN:
Collection method: TRAINING DATA / LIVE SEARCH / DATABASE / UNKNOWN
Raw answer saved: YES / NO; archive location:
Brand mention and its context:
Cited URL, or NONE OBSERVED / UNKNOWN when the record does not establish it:
Score name, definition, denominator and covered date range:
Collection failures, unavailable rows and unresolved method questions:
Do not substitute a report date for the date of every underlying observation.
Do not average proprietary grades or join them into one trend.

3. Verify a possible owned-page correction separately
Exact owned URL and existing claim:
Authoritative current fact / owner / date / supporting record:
Owned error verified: YES / NO
Proposed bounded change / reviewer / publication owner:
An incorrect AI answer alone does not verify an error on our website.
If the website is already accurate, preserve it and investigate the source.

4. Name the recurring decision, if there is one
Question needing repeated observations, or NONE:
Fixed buyer questions / exact surfaces / cadence / reporting owner:
History/export required; treatment of missing responses:
Pilot scope, price, trial end and acceptance criterion:
Do not buy recurring tracking solely because a grade looks low.

5. Choose the next step in this order
Identity different or unknown: VERIFY IDENTITY first.
Identity matched and an owned error independently verified: REVIEW PAGE FIX.
Otherwise, answer missing or method unknown: COMPLETE EVIDENCE.
Otherwise, a named recurring question: PILOT MONITORING.
Otherwise: RETAIN SNAPSHOT; no subscription decision is established.
List every missing evidence item even when a verified correction takes priority.
Selected next step / reason / owner / due date:
Later observation record, separate from the publication record:
Visits, signups and paid conversions, with their attribution limits:

Which alternative fits the next job?

The useful comparison starts with what you need after the report: another view of brand representation, evidence about a specific answer, an owned-page correction, or a repeatable reporting process. Those are different purchases. A second free score can introduce a different dataset without resolving the question that prompted your first check.

This September 12, 2026 comparison is published by RankEcho. It uses official product pages and RankEcho's repository source. We did not submit vendor forms, run accounts, test report accuracy or measure delivery times. The recommendations are fit judgments; the worked exercise tests a manual decision rule, not vendor performance.

What does HubSpot's grader actually establish?

HubSpot describes a free, one-time brand check across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. It combines five dimensions into a score out of 100 and provides an interpretation. No account is required, but a short form unlocks the full report. Free access does not mean every access step is absent.

Its pages describe the method differently. The grader landing page says training data; the AEO FAQ says ChatGPT and Gemini use training data while Perplexity uses live search. We have not resolved that difference through a run. Confirm the method for each engine before treating a result as a current web-citation observation.

First check whether the response describes the right business. Similar company names, a broad category or an unclear geography can make a plausible report irrelevant to your site. Save the underlying answer and its context before assigning work to a writer. A summary grade does not identify which owned sentence is wrong.

When is another free checker useful?

Semrush's domain checker lists ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews. Its report describes mentions, cited pages, topics and estimated audience reach, using a large prompt-and-response database. That is useful for exploring coverage beyond an introductory brand description. Check the represented dates and topics before assuming it reran your own question at the moment you entered a domain.

Omnia advertises a domain-and-email report with ten category prompts per engine across ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews and AI Mode: 40 prompt runs in its description. It says the report includes answers and citations and arrives within three to five minutes. That delivery claim was not tested here. Inspect the actual prompts before treating them as your buyer panel.

Use these reports to collect a missing kind of evidence. If you need to inspect the answer behind a concern, choose an output that lets you retain that answer. If you need to verify whether your page is accessible or its facts are current, inspect the page directly. Another aggregate grade cannot substitute for that check.

Do not average the scores. A sentiment-weighted brand assessment, a database-derived visibility metric and a share-of-voice value from selected prompts have different definitions. Even two numbers out of 100 can describe different things. Keep each report with its method and date range; compare observations only after establishing that their scope matches.

When should you evaluate recurring monitoring?

Pay for a repeatable decision: a monthly client report, a fixed set of buyer questions, or an ongoing review of how a product is described. Name the person who will use the observations and what they will do with them. Without that responsibility, a new subscription can produce more reports without changing the team's work.

HubSpot AEO currently lists $50 per month, or $45 per month paid annually, in USD before applicable tax. The product includes 25 prompts across ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with additional prompts available. It describes citation analysis, competitor comparison and prioritized recommendations. The free trial is distinct from the permanently free grader; confirm its current duration and renewal terms.

HubSpot says AEO works regardless of your website's CMS. It also includes AEO in Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise with expanded prompts and CRM-informed recommendations. Check existing entitlements before buying a separate instance. This comparison does not establish that changing your CRM or CMS is necessary.

Before selecting any recurring product, inspect an actual response, collection settings, history export and missing-response treatment in a trial. Start a clearly identified monitoring series. An old grader snapshot does not become a compatible historical baseline simply because the new product also displays a visibility score.

What do the five worked records show?

The worksheet uses identity, saved-answer and method states, an independently verified owned-page error, and a named recurring question. It does not consume or grade a vendor score. These five invented inputs were evaluated locally to demonstrate how the next step changes with the evidence supplied.

Identity uncertainty comes first. Once the company is matched, a verified owned error can justify reviewing a correction even if the collection method remains unresolved. Keep that missing evidence visible. Otherwise, complete the answer/method record before deciding between a monitoring pilot and retaining the snapshot.

Where does RankEcho fit after a grader report?

Start with the free audit when you want to inspect RankEcho's evidence workflow. Free audits check Perplexity and Gemini once per prompt. Paid and trialing accounts add ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Overviews when configured for the account, for up to 5 engines. RankEcho does not currently run Microsoft Copilot checks.

For recurring work, RankEcho's base plans are $49, $149 and $399 monthly, with plan-specific allowances. Evaluate the Fix Engine when your team needs an inspectable page-change proposal, a reviewer and an implementation handoff. The Proof Loop records later observations. Full-page content production has separate pricing and requires a paid base plan.

Open the sample fix before deciding. It is fictional, but it shows the shape of the deliverable and the review boundary. Bring one owned URL and verified facts to your evaluation. No HubSpot grader import, CRM replacement, automatic publication or increase in a vendor's grade is established by this comparison.

A correction can be worthwhile because your page contains a wrong price or unsupported claim. It still does not prove that the page caused an AI answer or that changing it will change a citation. Record the published correction separately from later answers, visits and paid conversions. That separation makes the recurring work easier to assess honestly.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a paid tool after a low HubSpot grader score?

A low score alone does not establish a purchase. Verify the company and underlying evidence, identify any independently confirmed owned-page error, and name the recurring question a subscription would answer.

Is HubSpot AEO the same as AI Search Grader?

They serve different jobs. The grader is a one-time diagnostic; AEO is HubSpot's recurring prompt-tracking product. Check the current paid package and any existing Marketing Hub entitlement.

Can I compare two vendors' scores as an improvement?

Only after establishing comparable definitions and collection scope. Keep proprietary scores in separate records; a higher number from a different tool is not evidence that your visibility improved.

Should I rewrite a page because an AI answer is wrong?

Verify the owned page against authoritative current facts first. If the page is already accurate, preserve it and investigate the answer's source. A verified page error supports a bounded correction, with later observations recorded separately.
