# Gauge content workflow evaluation

Decide whether Gauge, a smaller monitoring plan or a separate editorial workflow fits the work your team can actually complete. Record one candidate per worksheet and retain the evidence behind the decision.

Worksheet version 1.0 · 20 September 2026. Complete one record per candidate. Blank fields request your evidence; this pack does not report vendor account tests or executed pilots.

## 1 Define the work you need

Start with the pages and decisions the team needs to support. A large allowance is useful only when the selected prompts and articles serve that work.

**Decision and owner** — Record the brand, candidate, evaluator, decision date and reason for reviewing Gauge. Name the person who will approve the budget.

[Enter your response]

**Required monitoring panel** — Link five shared buyer prompts and the full proposed panel. Record answer surfaces, location, language, cadence and how missing answers will be reported.

[Enter your response]

**Editorial capacity** — List pages or articles needed each month, available reviewer hours, required CMS and who can publish. Set the minimum evidence that would justify staying with Gauge.

[Enter your response]

## 2 Match allowances to a real budget

Gauge Growth lists $599 per month, 600 daily prompts across six platforms, 18 articles and five seats, rechecked 20 September 2026. Price your required workflow rather than treating every included unit as a benefit.

**Usage and headroom** — Record needed prompts, seats and approved articles. The illustrative full allowance is 600 × 6 × 30 = 108,000 scheduled answer checks in a 30-day month; it does not show successful responses or buyer demand.

[Enter your response]

**Complete monthly cost** — Add subscription, required extras, retained tools, reviewer and publisher time, onboarding and tax. Record unused capacity and any custom quote.

[Enter your response]

**Billing and exit terms** — Attach the dated plan or quote, commitment, trial expiry, cancellation terms and export rights. Confirm what can be tested during the one-week trial.

[Enter your response]

| Requirement | Needed | Quoted or observed |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Daily prompts | [Enter count] | [Enter limit] |
| Approved articles per month | [Enter count] | [Enter limit] |
| Seats and publishing destinations | [Enter scope] | [Enter scope] |

## 3 Test a content handoff

Use one owned page and approved source material in a permitted trial or demonstration. Mark unavailable functions as untested.

**From finding to assignment** — Save the prompt result, cited sources and recommended task. Identify the page owner and why the change would help a reader.

[Enter your response]

**Draft and human review** — Retain the brief, draft and corrections. Check an intentionally incorrect claim in an unpublished test draft and confirm that review catches it.

[Enter your response]

**Publish and recover** — Demonstrate the quoted CMS connection, approval permissions and rollback on a test destination. Save the reviewed diff and identify the publisher.

[Enter your response]

**Evidence after publication** — Retain the shipment date, exact prompt configuration and later answers with citations and failures. Record what is native, exported or manually maintained; a change in answers alone does not establish causation.

[Enter your response]

## 4 Decide whether to keep or change

Compare total cost and completed work against the requirements set on page one. Keeping the incumbent or reducing scope can be the best supported decision.

**Requirement results** — Mark each requirement pass, fail or untested. Link observations and list unresolved publishing, export or cost questions.

[Enter your response]

**Selected workflow** — Choose keep, resize, supplement or replace. Explain the tradeoff, approved spending and who owns work outside the software.

[Enter your response]

**Transition and review** — Assign exports, draft transfer, billing cancellation and access removal if needed. Record the review date and what evidence would reverse the decision.

[Enter your response]

## Complete comparison guide

A useful Gauge alternatives review starts by defining the unfinished job rather than assuming every tool is a monitor. Teams compare Gauge alternatives when the $599 Growth entry point, its high-volume prompt model, or its content workflow does not match the job they need to run. Gauge already includes recommendations and publishing, so the fair comparison is workflow design and evidence after shipping - not monitoring versus action. Below is the field reviewed September 1, 2026, with official-source review records and a consistent way to choose.

Original guide update: 2026-09-06. Companion and scoped source recheck: 20 September 2026. The evidence records below retain their individual dates. Confirm current plan, billing commitment and workload in a written quote.

Gauge Growth rechecked 20 September 2026: $599 monthly with 600 daily prompts across six platforms, 18 articles and five seats; Enterprise is custom. Test the required CMS connection and approval workflow on the quoted plan. The Profound shortlist entry is refreshed below; historical evidence keeps its original dates.

## What Gauge offers

Gauge combines daily AI visibility tracking with an execution layer. Its current Growth plan monitors a large prompt set across six core platforms, surfaces prioritized work in Action Center and Ask Gauge, and includes publish-ready article production plus CMS integrations.

Gauge's official pages document recommendations, content production, and publishing integrations as well as monitoring. The public materials reviewed did not document a shipment-linked, same-prompt evidence ledger equivalent to RankEcho's; that is a documentation finding, not an account-level product test.

## Why teams evaluate alternatives

Teams compare Gauge alternatives when the $599 Growth entry point, its high-volume prompt model, or its content workflow does not match the job they need to run. Gauge already includes recommendations and publishing, so the fair comparison is workflow design and evidence after shipping - not monitoring versus action.

That is not a judgment that Gauge is a bad tool. It means the right alternative depends on the data, implementation artifact, post-ship observation, reporting layer, and price meter your workflow actually needs.

## Where RankEcho fits

RankEcho organizes the work around Find, Fix, and Prove. Find: a 12-prompt audit. Free audits check Perplexity and Gemini once per prompt. Paid and trialing accounts add ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Overviews when configured for the account, for up to 5 engines. Fix: a reviewable package with an answer block, schema, content brief, crawler guidance, and an offsite source plan. Prove: the exact prompt observed again after a shipped date, with timing, movement, and a correlation note - never a causal or guaranteed-citation claim. Paid plans add branded or co-branded client rooms, portal seats, digests, pitch pages, and prompt portfolios; full de-badging and configured sending-domain features are Agency-plan capabilities.

RankEcho is $49, $149, or $399 per month with a 7-day trial. There is no separate per-engine or per-seat surcharge within each plan's included configuration and capacity; domain, observation, and seat limits still apply (reviewed September 1, 2026).

The free audit is one way to judge fit before paying: it samples the documented free-engine scope, reports the observed prompt outcomes, and identifies gaps an implementation package could target.

## How to choose well

Evaluate every candidate on the same five questions rather than feature lists.

- Coverage: which engines, and is multi-engine included or priced per engine?
- Measurement: fixed prompts you control, or opaque sampling?
- Execution: does it produce a shippable change, or advice?
- Post-ship evidence: will it observe the same prompt again, retain the answer, and avoid a causal claim?
- Budget shape: which domains, users, engines, prompts, sources, or credits meter year-one cost?

## Is RankEcho a good Gauge alternative?

It can be if you need reviewable implementation artifacts plus same-prompt observations tied to a shipped date. If another product's research, publishing, monitoring, or reporting workflow is the better fit, compare coverage, artifacts, plan limits, and price directly.

## What is the cheapest way to start?

Run RankEcho's free 12-prompt audit - no card required - or start on a low-cost monitoring tier elsewhere. Either way, test with your own buyer-intent prompts before paying.

## Does RankEcho guarantee AI citations?

No. AI answers vary, so RankEcho reports before-and-after observations on the same prompts with repeat counts and limitations instead of making guaranteed ranking, citation, or causal claims.

## Which engines does RankEcho cover?

Free audits check Perplexity and Gemini once per prompt. Paid and trialing accounts add ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Overviews when configured for the account, for up to 5 engines. Google AI Overviews is reported only when an overview is shown and retrievable; otherwise that cell is marked skipped/unavailable rather than counted as a citation miss. RankEcho does not currently run Microsoft Copilot checks.
